Pittsburgh Regional Transit is seeking a Substation Maintainer to perform a variety of assignments related to traction power substations. This includes installing, troubleshooting, repairing, maintaining and performing scheduled maintenance on the traction power substations and related components.

Essential Functions

• Installs, maintains repairs, cleans, inspects and tests substation equipment, including, but not limited to: AC/DC switchgear, circuit breakers, relays rectifiers, fans, heaters, emergency standby equipment and all auxiliary equipment. • Performs preventive maintenance and monitors substation conditions. • Troubleshoots, adjust and tests substation equipment, including periodic functional tests. • Manually operates substation equipment.

Job Requirements

• Must completed the apprentice training requirements for this position. • Must possess a Class “C” PA Driver’s license. • Must obtain and maintain a valid Class “B” driver’s license within ninety (90) working days.
