Assistant Manager of Rail Project Planning
Pittsburgh Regional Transit is seeking an Assistant Manager of Rail Project Planning to oversee the planning of all Way Department rail work and provide technical assistance to support repair and maintenance of the (PRT) Rail Right of Ways.
Essential Functions• Provide guidance and technical expertise to junior members of staff. • Demonstrate both written and verbal communication skills to develop plans, and specifications effectively and that they are well understood. • Addressing design issues. • Overseeing installations of Crossings, Switches and Frogs. • Participates in the development and tracking of Capital Projects for the Way Department. • Coordinates with other assistant managers of Way Department to resolve work related issued. • Acts as a liaison between the Department and other groups (such as OCC, Technical Support, Procurement, Facilities, Operations, LRT Systems & Power and others) to obtain information, purchase parts, materials or equipment, or request assistance for any rail related projects.
Job Requirements
• High School Diploma or GED. • Associates Degree or Technical Degree in Engineering or directly related field from an accredited school. Experience in directly related field may be substituted for education. • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in rail and rail/track maintenance. • Minimum of two (2) years of supervisory experience in rail and rail/track maintenance. • Effective and Professional communication skills. • Demonstrated ability in the use of Windows and Microsoft Word.
Preferred Attributes
• Degree in a technical field.
